U.W.I’s Isheka Binns and Federick Dacres continued their good season form to top the performances at the Seniors’ Link Up Meet held over the weekend at G.C
Jamaica’s National Discus Champion, Dacres, won the men’s shot put event with s throw of 18.81m.
Isheka Binns on the other hand registered wins in both the discus and javelin event with throws of 55.90m and 41.21m respectively.
World and Olympic bronze medallist over the 1 lap event, Shericka Jackson clocked a new personal best in the 100m sprint; she stopped the clock in 10.67 seconds to finish ahead of Sasha Lee-Forbes 11.72 seconds and Stephanie Ann McPherson 11.78 seconds.
In the male event Tyquendo Tracey of UTECH won 10.71 seconds, the same time given to his teammate Chad Walker.
GC Foster’s Colin King, who ran 10.77 for third in the 100m, was the winner of the 200m in 21.07 seconds.
In the women’s 200m event, Mico Dawna-Lee Loney came out with the best time of 23.69 seconds; Rene Medley of GC Foster College was second in 23.81 while third went to MVP’s Jeneive Russell in 24.22 seconds.
MVP’s Jody Muir won the women’s 400m in 53.38 ahead of Shannon Kalawan, 54.00 and Mico’s Samantha James, 54.25 seconds.
